Preschool Program for children ages 2.5-5
Children are encouraged to explore and discover, to collaborate with classmates, and to take ownership of their education. The Montessori Method encourages self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth. Education for peace is a foundational component of Montessori education. The teaching of peace, social justice, and global citizenship is based on fostering respect for all people and living things, and helping children learn the tools for peaceful conflict resolution. TLCMS also includes aspects of a traditional learning environment to fully prepare the child for their transition to kindergarten and beyond. The curriculum includes self directed lessons in Language, Math, Sensorial, Culture (including science and computer science), and Practical Life as well as teacher led activities in Music, Art, and Mind and Body Wellness.
Transitional Kindergarten Program for children ages 5 and 6
Children who may need additional time before entering a traditional kindergarten program are encouraged to participate in our transitional kindergarten program. The classroom itself is not separated from the younger children, but expectations are more rigorous. Additional written work in Math and Language is expected as well as the older children taking on a mentor type role for the younger children.
Registration
Both programs are offered as a half day or full day program.
Half day 8:00am to 12:30pm yearly tuition is $4950, which can be paid in full or broken into ten monthly payments of $485 per month
Full day 8:00am to 4:00pm is $9250, which can be paid in full or broken into ten monthly payments of $900 per month
First month's tuition is due the first day of school and on the 15th of each month after.
Please download the following application and bring it to the school before the beginning of the semester. We do require all children to be potty trained before being admitted to the program. There is a non-refundable $150 fee due at the time of registration.
